Filmed for the BBC. Shot at Shepperton studios. A huge set, all the models were made by Artem and the set was designed and made by Bruce Hill. The end top shot was a very large bit of Moon sculpted beautifully by Bruce.
Matt wanted all the effects to be in camera the only post was removing the wire that was pulling the space module.
The initial burst of the pod from the Mother ship was done with 100 foot of track with the camera, pod and spaceship all tracking at different speeds. Oh and a fire extinguisher for the vapour burst.
